China is seeing an increasing number of shops label themselves as pet-friendly in order to attract more consumers. Many businesses including coffee shops and shopping malls are seizing opportunities in the country's growing pet market. According to a white paper on China's pet business published by Chinese pet industry website pethadoop.com, there were over 70 million urban pet owners in China in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 2.9 percent.
