In Chinese culture, the rabbit has been regarded as a symbol of the bright moon and auspiciousness since ancient times, and it is widely revered by Chinese people. The zun is a vessel that was used as a ritual container to hold wine in ancient times. The Rabbit Zun from the Western Zhou Dynasty (1100-771B.C.), which measures 22.2 centimeters in height by 31.8 centimeters in length, was unearthed in 1992 in a village in Quwo County, Linfen, Shanxi Province. It is the first known instance of a rabbit being depicted on a bronze vessel.
