Located in northwest China’s Gansu Province, Dunhuang is renowned for its rich historical culture and breathtaking natural landscapes. The city boasts several distinct attractions, including the Mogao Caves, Mingsha Mountain, Crescent Spring, Yumen Pass, and Yangguan Pass, each offering visitors a diverse range of travel experiences.

The Mogao Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands as a treasure trove of Dunhuang culture, drawing countless art enthusiasts and history aficionados from all corners of the globe. Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Spring are celebrated for their unique natural landscapes, where a clear spring amidst the desert and the sand dunes of Mingsha Mountain create awe-inspiring scenery. Yumen Pass and Yangguan Pass offer tourists a journey through history, immersing them in the grandeur of ancient times.

Recently, Dunhuang City unveiled winter and spring tourism incentive policies. The Mogao Caves will open an additional four caves, increasing the total number from eight to twelve during the peak season.

What’s more, the city will launch the Dunhuang cultural study season, backed by related products and policies, to establish a study season alliance to offer a range of venues – scenic spots, the airport, a study base, hotels and restaurants – to accommodate study groups. During this program, the number of caves open to the public at the Mogao Caves will increase from eight to thirteen, where expert guides will provide in-depth explanations.

Furthermore, Dunhuang is set to introduce a series of incentives, including tourist trains, chartered flights, and free-entry promotional tours, to further invigorate its winter and spring tourism market.
