With performances and exhibitions, galleries and shops, bars and restaurants all spread throughout repurposed industrial facilities, the Eastern Suburb Memory Fashion Industrial Park in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province, has everything that young people enjoy and has become a new center of fashion in the city.

Built on the site of the former Hongguang Electron Tube Factory, the park combines industrial heritage with modern urbanist architecture, offering a combined atmosphere of nostalgia and fashion.

Many young people go there to have their photos taken among the statues, graffiti, old chimneys and pipelines.

As the birthplace of "Science Fiction World," one of the world's most popular science fiction periodicals, Chengdu will host this year's World Science Fiction Convention in October. As a prelude to the event, a sci-fi exhibition is being held at the Eastern Suburb Memory fashion park showcasing the history of the magazine and the development of Chinese science fiction.

From this July, Shuyanfu, or "Ode to the Shu [another name for Sichuan] Banquet," an original Chinese food show integrating music, dance performance, light and shadow art, and dining, has offered visitors to the fashion park a new way to enjoy a taste of local culture during ancient times.
