Powered by the HarmonyOS operating system, the intelligent car is packed with all the capabilities used on the company's smart phones, according to Yu Chengdong, managing director at Huawei and chief executive officer at the firm's consumer business group and intelligent automotive solution business unit.

The new model is equipped with the company's high-end intelligent driving system, which enables high-speed and high-end intelligent driving for urban roads that "does not rely on high-precision maps," he said.

Jointly designed with its collaborative car partner company, Seres, Huawei has provided support for product design, industry chain management, software ecosystems and user management.

Level 3 autonomy is where the vehicle can perform dynamic driving without human intervention. Self-driving cars progress through six levels of driver assistance technology in total.
