Winners of the upcoming Golden Panda Awards will receive their certificates embroidered with a golden panda.
Meng Dezhi, a master of Sichuan embroidery, and her team, have used four kinds of golden silk threads with different depths of color to embroider the awards logo for the certificates stitch by stitch.
Sichuan embroidery, a style of embroidery folk art native to southwest China's Sichuan and Chongqing, has a history of over 3,000 years. It is one of the four most famous types of embroidery in China.
The first Golden Panda Awards event is scheduled to be held from September 19 to 20 in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. A total of 25 awards in four categories – Film, TV dramas, Documentaries, and Animation – will be presented.
