Editor's Note: The African Union is having its big moment at G20. With full G20 membership, the AU now represents a continent that's home to over 1 billion people. This happens just weeks after the 15th BRICS Summit and the China-Africa Leaders' Dialogue held in Johannesburg from 22-24 August, which have cemented the bond between countries in the Global South and further strengthened China's commitment to the development of the African continent. In this edition of Leaders Talk, CMG's Wang Guan sat down with Senegalese President Macky Sall to discuss China-Africa cooperation and China-Senegal ties. He underscores China's win-win approach that brings tangible and concrete results on the ground. Contrary to the "debt trap" narrative peddled by the West, he remarks that China carefully caters to Africa's priorities in terms of infrastructure. President Sall, who was the previous chairperson of the African Union, says that a new paradigm is unfolding and that Africa should have a bigger say in international organizations. He aptly remarks that the shift toward the BRICS and the expansion of the bloc is an expression of this new paradigm.
