Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro in Beijing on Wednesday. The two presidents announced the elevation of the China-Venezuela relationship to an all-weather strategic partnership.
Maduro is paying a state visit to China from September 8 to 14 at the invitation of Xi.
