The city of Dunhuang in China's Gansu Province boasts a history of more than 2,000 years and is best known for the nearby Mogao Grottoes, a World Heritage site. Although it's a county-level city located in a remote northwestern part of China, it has been making good use of its signature cultural IP to develop tourism.
