The 2023 Beijing Culture Forum, the second of its kind, kicked off in the Chinese capital on Thursday.
With the forum's permanent theme of "Inheritance, Creativity, Mutual Learning" and the annual theme of "Inherit Cultural Legacies, Promote Exchanges and Cooperation," this year's event includes a main forum and five sub-forums to showcase cultural achievements and promote exchanges.
The five sub-forums are respectively focusing on the preservation and utilization of cultural heritages; using science and technology to promote cultural development and dealing with risks that sci-tech may pose; the relationship between literature, art and social life; the integrated development of culture and tourism; and mutual respect and cooperative development among different civilizations.
The result of the "ten major events of 2022 to build Beijing into a cultural center of China" will also be revealed at the forum.
More than 600 guests from cultural fields at home and abroad will attend the forum.
Related cultural activities include an evening gala at Big Air Shougang, the former Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics venue, the Beijing October Literature Festival and "The Temple of Earth and Me" Beijing Autumn Book Fair.
The forum is jointly sponsored by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, and the Beijing municipal government.
