Several advanced aircraft engines are on display at the sixth China Helicopter Expo, currently underway in north China's coastal municipality of Tianjin.
A domestically-made turboshaft engine designed to allow a helicopter to operate in harsh environments is stealing the show. With a maximum power of 1,100 kW, the engine is equipped with a game-changing sand filter. Alongside the engines, helicopters powered by liquid hydrogen and others propelled by hybrid-electric propulsion systems are shining at the expo as aerial vehicles dedicated to environmental protection begin to gain market recognition.
