Workers are busy making traditional mooncakes, a confectionary enjoying 100-year history in Pangjiabao Town in north China's Zhangjiakou City, ahead of Mid-Autumn Festival which falls on September 29 this year.

The hand-made mooncakes are made of flax oil and flour and have a stuffing of black and white sesame, peanut kernel, melon seed kernel, and white sugar, producing a crisp texture and sweet yet not greasy taste. The popular mooncakes have not only become a daily delicacy for local people but have also developed as a characteristic industry that increases farmers' income.
