Main Media Center in Hangzhou welcomes media personnel for Asian Games

The Main Media Center (MMC) for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, welcomed the arrivals of media outlets and authorized broadcasters from all over the world on Saturday for the coverage of the Asian Games.

Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and president of China Media Group (CMG); Wang Hao, governor of Zhejiang Province and commander-in-chief of the Command of Hangzhou Asian Games; Liu Jie, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Hangzhou Committee; and Zhao Cheng, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Zhejiang Committee and head of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee Publicity Department, attended the ceremony.

In his speech at the welcome ceremony, Shen pointed out that the 19th Asian Games is the biggest event in scale hosted in China since the 20th National Congress of the CPC in October 2022. CMG has sent over 4,500 people to Hangzhou to cover the Asian Games.

As the main broadcasting agency, CMG will, with its world-leading technologies in 4K/8K broadcasting and signal production, among other fronts, provide quality services to broadcasters and audiences all over the world, Shen said.

Zhao stressed that Zhejiang is ready to work with the rest of the world in making, recording and sharing every highlight of the Asian Games. He invited all of the media outlets and broadcasters that have come to Hangzhou to work together to record the historical moments of different cultures encountering each other and combining with each other.

Over 10,000 reporters from 30 media outlets and authorized broadcasters, including Yomiuri Shimbun and TBS Television of Japan, Seoul Broadcasting System of South Korea, Plan B Media PCL of Thailand and Mediacorp of Singapore, will cover the 19th Asian Games at the MMC.

CMG will upload the clips of the sports competitions as well as real-time signals to the cloud and offer cloud broadcasting services of all files at all bit rates to media outlets and authorized broadcasters via cloud nodes from Hangzhou, Beijing, Singapore and other locations.
