Amid mid-autumn, scenes of bountiful tomato harvests unfolded in Bayingol Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang, northwestern China.

Xinjiang's unique climate and soil conditions contribute to the exceptional flavor of its tomatoes. The region's abundant sunlight and temperature variations between day and night enhance the sweetness and aroma of the tomatoes, making them exceptionally tasty. The tomatoes are known for their striking red color and smooth, unblemished skin. Xinjiang accounts for over 80% of China's domestic tomato production, and in 2023, the cultivation area for processing tomatoes in Xinjiang exceeded 80% of the national total.
