Pingtan Island is the closest place on the Chinese mainland to Taiwan, only 68 nautical miles away from Hsinchu Port. Part of a Comprehensive Experimental Area that aims to accelerate the all-round opening up to Taiwan, Pingtan is playing an increasingly important role in promoting integration and development between the two sides. The island is home to many entrepreneurs from Taiwan leveraging opportunities on the Chinese mainland. CGTN reporter Aaron Liu finds out more.
