In 2017, China's first and only official international women-themed film festival held its first event in Chengdu, the capital city of southwest China's Sichuan Province. This year, Chengdu welcomes the first Golden Panda Awards. Female-themed films and TV dramas, including "My Brilliant Friend" and "Cousins," have been nominated. Ahead of the first Golden Panda Awards, CGTN reporter Liu Xiaoxian talks to Yang Jing, founder of the One International Women's Film Festival, on the changes happening in female-themed films in China and how Chengdu highlights female filmmakers.
