'The Lion King' director on how films build a community with a shared future

American director Rob Minkoff, who is best known for the Oscar-winning film "The Lion King", is in Chengdu for the inaugural Golden Panda Awards, serving as a judge in the animated film category. At the Golden Panda International Cultural Forum, Minkoff said film is a form of storytelling. It is an ancient form that seeks to connect human beings and explore shared values. He points out that no matter how storytelling changes and how powerful visual technology is, it is still human beings themselves who ultimately play a decisive role.
