The first Golden Panda Awards Ceremony concluded in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province on Wednesday.
A total of 25 awards in four categories, film, TV drama, documentary and animation, were presented.
"Jojo Rabbit," a 2019 comedy-drama film directed by Taika Waititi, won the Best Film Award in the Film Category. The Best Director award went to Chinese director Liu Jiangjiang for his movie "Lighting Up the Stars." Meanwhile, Christopher Hampton and Florian Zeller won the Best Screenplay for their movie "The Father."
Nahuel Pérez Biscayart won the Best Actor in a Leading Role Award for his role as Gilles in the film "Persian Lessons." Penélope Cruz won the Best Actress in a Leading Role for her role as Janis in the film "Parallel Mothers."
In the Animation Category, the Best Animation went to the Chinese animation series "Yao – Chinese Folktales," the Best Animated Image went to Finland's animated family drama series "Moominvalley Season 3," and the Best Visual Effect award went to the Chinese 3D animated fantasy film "Deep Sea."
In the TV Drama Category, the Best Director award went to Zhang Yongxin for his drama series "Awakening Age."
Organized by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, with the panda serving as a symbol of cultural exchange, the Golden Panda Awards is an international event established to promote humanistic exchanges and the building of a global community with a shared future through film and television productions.
