In Daqing, Heilongjiang Province, squirrels in the city's forest park were seen enjoying mooncakes offered by local residents in the run-up to Mid-Autumn Festival. With an increasing awareness of wildlife protection, squirrels are frequently spotted in the city's forest park, and their population is on the rise, offering people the chance to get up close to these adorable creatures. Visitors often bring nuts to feed them, but at this time of year mooncakes are also added to the squirrels’ joyous Mid-Autumn Festival menu.
