The China-Europe freight train service is an international multimodal container rail transport service. The freight trains run across China and European countries as well as countries and regions along the Belt and Road.

China proposed the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in 2013, and the China-Europe freight train service was launched in the same year. Over the past decade, the train service has become "steel camel caravans" that transport goods between China and Europe.

China has launched freight train services with speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour along 86 routes to 217 cities across 25 European countries and regions, as well as to over 100 cities in 11 Asian countries and regions along the routes.

In the first eight months of this year, China-Europe freight trains have made 11,638 accumulated journeys and transported 1.26 TEUs of goods.

China-Europe freight train has advantages over sea, air and road transport. The railway express costs only a quarter of time by sea and one-fifth of price by air transport. Carbon emission via railway express is also much lower than by air and by road.
