The inaugural Golden Panda Awards concluded on September 20 in the city of Chengdu in Sichuan Province, with a grand awards ceremony unveiling the winners of twenty-five awards in four categories. "Jojo Rabbit," the first season of "1923," "The Miracle Panda" and "Yao-Chinese Folktales" won Best Film, Best TV Drama, Best Documentary and Best Animation, respectively.

The Golden Panda Awards recognize outstanding productions worldwide that promote the ideals of harmony, inclusiveness, diversity and the common values of all mankind. This year, the inaugural event has attracted over 7,000 submissions from 104 countries. A professional panel of jury members has gathered in Chengdu to decide which works will take home the top honor.

Moments before the big reveal for this year's Golden Panda Awards, several international filmmakers shared their experiences in Chengdu and their thoughts on this grand event.

Director Jeremy Andriambolisoa said, "It's my first time in China and I came here for the first Golden Panda Awards. It's an amazing place. I love China already. I love the culture but to come here is very special. It's a very welcoming event, so thank you very much."

Producer Luis Singer shared that attending the Golden Panda Awards has been an enriching experience: "That's what I always like about festivals, to get to know each other, get to know other nominees from other countries, but especially people from China because I'm not so often in contact with people from China. It was a really nice experience yesterday [at] the Grand Panda night, and of course to see the pandas in real life. So it was very nice."

Iranian animator Mahin Javaherian commented, "Very exciting, very kind people. Really kind people. I'm really excited, and tonight is really beautiful."
