The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Hong Kong Garrison held a joint patrol exercise, with its ground, maritime and aviation units comprehensively testing their capabilities in command, communication and cross-service coordination. In the exercise, the participating troops assimilated the patrol, search and rescue process on the day. Naval vessels made emergency preparations and sailed out of the port towards the target sea area. As warning alarms were sounded, the mission's command post issued an order to intercept and verify "suspicious vessels." The exercise was carried out under real combat scenarios to improved the troops' capability of undertaking joint operations.
