Zhejiang accounts for 108 companies of the top 500 Chinese private enterprises, ranking No.1 in the country.

In the first half year of 2023, its GDP was 3.87 trillion yuan ($530 billion). The per capita disposable income in urban and rural areas is 39,728 yuan ($5,441) and 23,126 yuan ($3,167), respectively. It accounts for 6.4 percent of the country's GDP by taking just one percent of the country's land, three percent of water consumption and five percent of energy consumption.
