Chantal Rickards, a British television and film executive and the former chief executive officer of The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) in Los Angeles, was a jury member in the TV drama category at The First Golden Panda Awards. In an interview with CGTN, she shared her observations on similarities and differences between Chinese and British film and drama products. She also gave some advice for young filmmakers who want to tell stories for international audiences, suggesting a good way to start is to study how people construct stories and write scripts across the world based on universal themes such as love and loss, hope and ambition, success and failure.
