China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has completed construction of its first high-resolution, remote-sensing AI satellite and is set to launch it in late November this year. The satellite, "Hong Kong Star," was manufactured at the Hong Kong Satellite Manufacturing Center. It is scheduled to be sent into orbit from an offshore launch pad in neighboring Guangdong Province on the Chinese mainland in November. Equipped with a high-resolution optical camera, the satellite can provide global-scale high-resolution optical remote-sensing images at the sub-meter level. Scientists say it can provide high-precision big data for global logistics, disaster prevention and relief, emergency response and safety, remote-sensing and smart city building.
