In an interview with CGTN's Guan Xin at the 2023 Bund Summit, Eswar Prasad, professor at Cornell University, said it is positive news that China and the U.S. have set up a channel for regular communication on economic and financial issues. 

While acknowledging that geopolitical tensions and competition in certain areas may still persist, he believes that the two countries can find areas of cooperation and recognize the importance of preventing these tensions from further escalating in the economic sphere.
