China and Europe have a significant trade relationship, being each other's major trading partner, said Jean-Claude Trichet, former president of the European Central Bank (ECB) and president of the French Academy of Moral and Political Sciences, emphasizing the importance of financial institutions to support the growth of trade on both sides.
