Zaozhuang City has the largest concentration of contiguous pomegranate planting areas and the most varieties of pomegranates in China. The Guanshi Pomegranate Orchard has an area of 120,000 mu (8,000 hectares), and 48 varieties of pomegranate trees. The Orchard has 432 pomegranate germplasms, which is the largest collection of pomegranate germplasm resources in China.
