In 1964, a Chinese medical team arrived on the Tanzanian island of Zanzibar off the east coast of Africa. Its purpose was to provide much-needed support for the local healthcare service. Over the past 60 years, successive teams of Chinese doctors have followed in the footsteps of that first one, providing vital medical treatment to tens of thousands of people and helping to train local medical staff. In this episode, we hear some touching stories of friendship from the fascinating tropical island of Zanzibar.
