Hippos sniff out a Mid-Autumn Festival-themed meal; a group of ring-tailed lemurs nibble at specially-made mooncakes while Asian elephants scooped up treats with their trunks: This was the festive scene at Qingdao Forest Wildlife World in Qingdao, Shandong, as various animals at the spot tucked into a holiday feast. The facility's caretakers prepared bespoke mooncake treats for the animals ahead of Friday's Mid-Autumn Festival. Made with fresh fruit and other ingredients, the treats took into account the animals' usual diets, with high-calorie items to give them a boost amid the cooler autumn weather.
