The 10th Silk Road International Film Festival (SRIFF) came to an end on Wednesday in Fuzhou, the capital city of southeastern China's Fujian Province, with the winners of the highly anticipated "Golden Silk Road Awards" being announced at the closing ceremony.
This year's competition attracted over 500 films from 84 countries and regions.
The film "The Shadowless Tower," a 2023 Chinese drama film, was the biggest winner, winning the Best Film Award and the Best Cinematography.
Director Chen Xiaoyu won the Best New Director for his movie "Gone with the Boat," a 2023 Chinese drama, while Chinese actor Wu Zhoukai won the Best Actor Award for his performance in this film.
Iranian actress Seyedeh Narges Mohammadi won the Best Actress for her role in the film "Wind of change."
The Best Director award went to Chinese director Zhang Yimou for his suspense comedy "Full River Red."
The Best Visual Effects goes to China's sci-fi blockbuster "The Wondering Earth II."
French-language documentary film directed by Nicolas Philibert, "On the Adamant," won the Best Documentary Award, while the Chinese animated film, "Chang'an" won the Best Animation.
The Best Screenplay award went to Amarsaikhan Baljinnyam and Bayarsaikhan Batsukh for the Mongolia drama "Ergej irekhgüi namar," English name "Harvest Moon."
The Silk Road International Film Festival is held annually. The capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, Xi'an, and Fuzhou in southeast China's Fujian Province alternate as hosts of the prominent event. The festival is part of China's Silk Road Film Bridge Project, aiming to carry forward the spirit of the Silk Road and promote cooperation and exchanges of filmmakers from both China and abroad.
