American soldier Travis King who crossed into the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) two months ago is in American custody, the Associated Press reported on Wednesday, citing two U.S. officials.

The DPRK had decided to expel Travis King who it said had admitted to entering the country illegally and was "disillusioned about unequal U.S. society," state media KCNA reported on Wednesday.

The decision was contained in the final results of an investigation into Travis King's July border crossing published by KCNA.

"King confessed that he illegally intruded into the territory of the DPRK as he harbored ill feeling against inhuman maltreatment and racial discrimination within the U.S. army and was disillusioned about the unequal U.S. society," KCNA said.
