The Santa Cruz River in Argentina is considered an ideal landscape for building hydroelectric stations. But for years, Argentina faced limitations in the advanced technologies needed to develop the infrastructure. In 2015, a joint effort between Argentina and China commenced, aiming to construct the world's southernmost dams. The massive Santa Cruz Hydroelectric Project, the largest initiative in bilateral cooperation, has attracted workers from various regions of Argentina and China to the remote southern frontier of South America.
