China's fastest cross-sea high-speed railway connecting cities including Fuzhou and Xiamen along the west coast of the Taiwan Straits began operation on September 28. A Fuxing bullet train departed from Fuzhou at 9:15 a.m., marking the opening of the 277-kilometer high-speed railway that boasts a maximum speed of 350 km/h. The railway also features intelligent technologies, including the Internet of Things, edge computing and a geographic information system.
