Qufu City in east China's Shandong Province is the hometown of the renowned Chinese philosopher Confucius. To honor the legacy of this great sage, the annual Grand Ceremony of Worship of Confucius took place on Thursday in Qufu. 2023 marks the 2,574th birthday of Confucius.
