One of the longest serving members of the U.S. Congress is dead. Senator Dianne Feinstein of California was 90 years old. She was the longest serving female senator and is being remembered as a passionate but pragmatic centrist Democrat. She was a champion of environmental protection, gun control and reproductive rights during her 31 years in the Senate. President Joe Biden has ordered flags at the White House to be lowered to half staff in honor of Feinstein.
