Chinese athletes secured eight of the 25 gold medals awarded at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, on Saturday. Two diving pairs became the biggest highlights for the team.

Quan Hongchan and Chen Yuxi won the women's 10-meter synchronized platform gold with 375.3 points, 85.26 points above the silver medalists, Matsuri Arai and Minami Itahashi of Japan. With their dominant performances, Quan and Chen made sure that the title of the events went to China for a sixth straight time.

Yan Siyu and He Chao extended the same honor for China in the men's 3-meter synchronized springboard. They beat silver medalists Yi Jaeg-yeong and Woo Ha-ram of South Korea and bronze medalists Muhammad Syafiq bin Puteh and Ooi Tze Liang of Malaysia to win the event's title for the sixth time in a row as well.

Wang Qi made China proud from the field by winning the men's hammer throw title. He beat Ashraf Amgad Elseify of Qatar, who threw season-best 72.42 meters, by 0.55 meter.

In two of the most eye-catching events on Saturday night, Ge Manqi and Xie Zhenye secured the men's and the women's 100-meter golds respectively. Ge finished the race in 11.23 seconds. Xie reached the goal line in 9.97 seconds and he was the only one to finish it within 10 seconds in the final.

Yousef Ahmed Masrahi of Saudi Arabia enjoyed his history-making moment in the Asian Games on Saturday as well, as he finished the men's 400-meter race in 45.55 seconds, claiming the first gold medal for his country in Hangzhou.

Two Chinese pairs met in the table tennis mixed doubles final. Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha defeated Lin Gaoyuan and Wang Yidi 4-1 (11-6, 11-8, 13-15, 11-4 and 11-9) to defend the gold of the event.

Two weightlifters of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea dominated the women's events on Saturday. Kang Hyun Yong set the new world record for the women's 55-kilogram group at 103 kilograms in snatch, 130 kilograms in clean and jerk and 233 kilograms in total. Ri Song Gum finished the 49-kilogram event with 124 kilograms in clean and jerk, 216 kilograms in total, both new world records as well.
