As an old Chinese saying goes, "Hangzhou is heaven on earth", having beautiful natural scenery, rich history and culture.
This year, the Mid-Autumn Festival overlaps with the National Day holiday, and combined with the Asian Games boom, makes Hangzhou a must-see destination.
Hangzhou's overall tourism orders during the Asian Games increased by 279 percent year-on-year as of September 21, statistics from China's travel platform Ctrip showed.
The huge passenger flow has made Hangzhou among the top three popular destinations for National Day holiday tourists, second only to Beijing and Shanghai.
Hangzhou's tourism boom also shows a spillover effect, driving the growth of tourism consumption in surrounding areas. According to the tourism platform Fliggy, the number of bookings for travel to Zhejiang Province during the eight-day holiday has more than doubled compared to last year.
At the same time, local tourism consumption, including catering, hotels, transportation, and shopping, have all been directly boosted. During the Asian Games, Zhejiang's tourism consumption orders increased by more than 100 percent compared with 2019, according to China's retail service company Meituan.
Data also showed that the number of dine-in orders in Zhejiang's restaurants has increased by more than 380 percent compared with the same period in 2019, and the Asian Games has driven sports orders to increase by 150 percent year-on-year, as of September 20.
Further, Hangzhou has issued coupons for sports, entertainment, and restaurants, to better stimulate consumption and turn the immediate attention brought by the Asian Games into long-term benefits.
