The Qiantang River in east China's Zhejiang Province is home to the world's largest tidal bore. The trumpet-shaped river mouth connects with the East China Sea and causes gigantic tides as high as nine meters. Every year around August 18 of the lunar calendar is the best time to witness the impressive sight.
