United States Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo has just wrapped up her four-day visit to China. While China and the U.S. have both emphasized the importance of maintaining stable economic ties, bilateral relations are still fraught with tensions and uncertainty. What has been achieved during Raimondo’s trip? Have the recent high-level meetings paved a clearer path for the future development of China-U.S. relations? To help us answer these questions, we are joined today by Zhao Hai, Director of International Political Studies of the National Institute for Global Strategy; Andy Mok, senior research fellow at the Center for China and Globalization; Jeffrey Towson, partner of TechMoat Consulting; and Dr. William Lee, chief economist at the Milken Institute.
