Team China break world record in women's trap team event at Hangzhou Asiad

Team China broke the world record in the women's trap team event at the Hangzhou Asian Games on Sunday.

Composed of Li Qingnian, Wu Cuicui and Zhang Xinqiu, the Chinese team set the new world record with 357 hits, three clear of the previous record, followed by Team India and Team Kazakhstan.

On the men's side, Chinese shooters finished third behind India and Kuwait.

Meanwhile, Chinese shuttlers finished second in the badminton women's team final, with South Korea topping the podium. 

Olympic champion Chen Yufei fell short in the opening match, losing 12-21, 13-21 to world No. 1 An Se-young, despite a 10-6 head-to-head record going into their seventh encounter of the season. 

China's Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan, who won a record fourth title at the World Championships in August, lost to South Korean duo Baek Ha-na and Lee So-hee 18-21, 14-21. 

Kim Ga-eun then downed He Bingjiao 23-21, 21-17 to seal a 3-0 victory for her side.

In the table tennis men's doubles event, China's Fan Zhendong and Wang Chuqin rallied past Iranian siblings Nima Alamian Darounkolaei and Noshad Alamiyan Daronkolaei 4-0 to set up the final with South Korean pair Jang Woojin and Lim Jonghoon later on Sunday. 

Sun Yingsha and Wang Yidi are registered in respective women's singles semifinals against South Korea's Shin Yubin and Japan's Hina Hayata, with the women's singles final scheduled to take place right after the men's doubles final. 

Also on Sunday, Chinese golfers won the bronze medal in the women's team event.
