Nobel Prize in Physics awarded to Agostini, Krausz and L'Huillier

On October 3, The Nobel academy announced the Nobel Prize in physics will be awarded to three scientists for creating incredibly short pulses of light that can capture processes inside atoms and molecules. Pierre Agostini of The Ohio State University in the U.S., Ferenc Krausz of the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in Germany, and Anne L'Huillier of Lund University in Sweden won the award. Hans Ellegren, the secretary-general of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, announced the prize in Stockholm.
