China completed the first 3,000-meter deep-water stratigraphic structure mapping with data collected by the home-grown "Haijing" system from the water area nearly 500 kilometers south of Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province.

The map offers a deeper understanding of the stratigraphic structure and a preliminary determination of the offshore oil and gas potential. It marks a major breakthrough in the core technology and equipment development key to deep-sea oil and gas exploration in China.
