Fundamentals sustaining China's economic growth in the long run continue to remain unchanged, a senior Chinese diplomat said on Tuesday at the 19th Executive Summit of China Institute in New York.
In a keynote speech, Chinese Consul General in New York Huang Ping said the Chinese economy will continue to possess "resilience, ample potential and strong vitality."
In highlights of his speech published on the consulate's website, Huang said that the country enjoys enormous growth potential and it is ready to share opportunities with all other countries for common development.
Huang talked about 10 topics of interest, backing them up with data and facts on, including China's contribution to the global economic recovery and how it continues to deepen reform and opening-up as well as new initiatives to create a favorable business environment,
Data from National Bureau of Statistics showed that the purchasing managers' index for China's manufacturing sector came in at 50.2 in September, bouncing back to expansion territory after four consecutive months of growth. China's major industrial firms saw a strong rebound in profits in August, surging 17.2 percent from a year earlier.
Comments from Huang came in response to recent gloomy reports on China's economy and business environment.
Chinese authorities have not stopped stepping-up efforts to address the concerns of foreign businesses, with recent policies that seek to optimize the business environment.
China's State Council has recently issued a statement outlining its guidelines regarding further optimizing the foreign investment environment and intensifying efforts to attract foreign investments.
In Shanghai, for instance, the government has set out plans to make mobile payments easier for expats on short visits to China, reported South China Morning Post.
The city also promised to lower the cross-border data flow regulation standard for certain foreign firms. These were among the main issues discussed at a talk held by the local regulators and multinationals in Shanghai last month with local authorities promising that about a quarter of the issues will be addressed soon.
