China's transport network was expected to handle over 53.5 million passenger trips on October 3, an increase of 52.5 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

More than 16 million railway passengers were expected to board trains on October 3, the fifth day of the long holiday, which lasts from September 29 to October 6. The single-day passenger volume exceeded 16 million for five consecutive days.
