Over the past decade, the Belt and Road Initiative has made remarkable achievements in infrastructure construction. In 2022, 16,000 fully loaded trains for China Railway Express travelled between Europe and China, most of them moving through Central Asia. According to Mr Djoomart Otorbaev, former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, thanks to increased regional connectivity, the Central Asia region could once again become the hub of trade, investment and exchange of ideas.
