China has harvested over 33 percent of all autumn crops, including over 40 percent of middle-season rice, over 30 percent of corn and more than 20 percent of soybeans, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Farmers are optimistic for a better harvest than last year, saying corn yields are likely to be better than before, partly thanks to improved soil management practices.
