Tsunami alert lifted for Japan's Izu islands after M6.6 quake

The Japan Meteorological Agency lifted a tsunami alert after a magnitude-6.6 quake hit the sea near Torishima of Izu islands at a depth of 10 kilometers on Thursday morning.
The waves, as high as 1 meter, hit the Izu islands, according to the agency. Currently, there were no reports of injuries due to the tsunami.
