Dozens of Japanese residents gathered in front of the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) headquarters building to protest against the discharge of nuclear-contaminated wastewater into the sea in the evening of October 4.
Japan has started a second round of nuclear wastewater discharge from the Fukushima plant on October 5, despite international criticism and opposition. Similar to the first phase, 7,800 metric tonnes of contaminated wastewater will be released into the ocean over 17 days.
