Koinu, the 14th typhoon this year, battered China's Taiwan region on October 5 with a record-breaking wind gusting up to 95.2 meters per second on the previous night. The typhoon swept the southern tip of Taiwan island. Falling billboards hit some pedestrians, and vehicles and motorcycles were also knocked down.
